Planting Reference : Bird Gardens

Dogwoods Dogwoods (Trees or Shrubs)
Dogwoods come in may colors and many shapes. You can choose from shrub or tree and then choose a color. There is also a fairly new evergreen which was recently introduced for the warmer zones that will flower in the spring and stay green all year long.
Grasses Ornamental Grasses

Weigela Weigela
This rapidly growing deciduous shrub flowers in June on previous years growth. Weigela produces clusters of wide-lipped tubular flowers in pink or red. It's leaves are about 4" long and can be mid to dark green or even variegated depending on the variety. It will grow in most any soil but prefers dry conditions.
Campsis Radicans Campsis Radicans
If the name sounds unfamiliar to you, try "Trumpet Vine" or "Trumpet Creeper". This fast growing vine is excellent for a trellis. It can be invasive so be careful. One thing to keep an eye on ... this is a personal favorite of hummingbirds.
Viburnum Viburnum
This attractive deciduous shrub flowers in early summer with fragrant white blooms in clusters on the ends of long stalks. Its green glossy leaves turn rich red in the fall.
